Now President Greg Brockman has quit as well. This is a total dumpster fire for Microsoft who has invested billions in this. The upcoming financing round is unlikely to occur. The two main people at the company are likely going to surface with a new startup that probably will compete with OpenAI. End of MSFT’s stock run.
So, if the latest info is accurate this wasn’t from Microsoft but more about OpenAI board wanting to stay more non commercial and Sam Altman wanting to go in the commercial direction. That reinforces my bottom line take. Microsoft’s large investment likely to be limited in it’s future value and Sam & Greg likely to surface with a new commercial competitor, possibly with either Musk at X or maybe Apple or Amazon.
