“Israel created Hamas, funds Hamas, supports Hamas, to benefit Israel”
Scott Ritter and Napolitano interview
Discussion about origins of Hamas begin at the 9:20 mark.
Ski’s statement (regardless if it was thought he did not ‘get’ the point of the humor in that OP) was correct. Historical news articles in the comments for anyone wishing to dig further.
Come to think of it – Trump’s speech favorite “The Snake” comes to mind as a lesson for the Israelis – sure, they can seek vengeance now but were they wise to have fostered it in the first place?
BLOWBACK: HOW ISRAEL WENT FROM HELPING CREATE HAMAS TO BOMBING IT
Hamas wants to destroy Israel, right? But as Mehdi Hasan shows in a new video on blowback, Israeli officials admit they helped start the group.

Listen to former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s. Segev later told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)
“The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”
“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009.

Hamas as partner
Effectively, Netanyahu’s entire worldview collapsed over the course of a single day. He was convinced that he could make deals with corrupt Arab tyrants while ignoring the cornerstone of the Arab-Jewish conflict, the Palestinians. His life’s work was to turn the ship of state from the course steered by his predecessors, from Yitzhak Rabin to Ehud Olmert, and make the two-state solution impossible. En route to this goal, he found a partner in Hamas.
“Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas,” he told a meeting of his Likud party’s Knesset members in March 2019. “This is part of our strategy – to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank.”
Benjamin Netanyahu failed Israel
We can now be sure: His policy of repressing Palestinians doesn’t make Israelis safe.

Second, a columnist at Israel’s Ha’aretz newspaper unearthed evidence that Netanyahu has intentionally propped up Hamas rule in Gaza — seeing Palestinian extremism as a bulwark against a two-state solution to the conflict.
“Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas,” the prime minister reportedly said at a 2019 meeting of his Likud party. “This is part of our strategy — to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank.”
These exact comments have not yet been confirmed by other sources. But the Times of Israel’s Tal Schneider wrote on Sunday that Netanyahu’s reported words “are in line with the policy that he implemented,” which did little to challenge and in some ways bolstered Hamas’s control over the Gaza Strip. Moreover, Schneider notes, “the same messaging was repeated by right-wing commentators, who may have received briefings on the matter or talked to Likud higher-ups and understood the message.” Some Netanyahu confidants have said the same thing, as have outside experts.

Israel funding Hamas, Olmert admits

The office of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert admitted on Wednesday that it is allowing the transfer of hundreds of millions of shekels to the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip every month.
Most of the funds enter Gaza in currency exchanges for the dollars and euros Hamas smuggles into the territory following fund-raising trips to Iran and other supportive Middle East regimes. In a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office earlier in the week, the Shurat Hadin Israel Law Center warned that the government was actively aiding the perpetuation of Hamas rule in Gaza, despite its own stated policies.
Shurat Hadin director Nitsana Darshan-Leitner explained that without the influx of Israeli shekels, the currency of record in Gaza, Hamas would be financially unable to rule. By allowing the entry of shekels into Gaza, Darshan-Leitner noted that Israel is breaching an economic embargo of Gaza by Western powers that Israel itself insisted upon, and is helping a terrorist organization to launder money, a direct violation of the Terror-Funding Act of 2005.
Worse, said Darshan-Leitner, is the fact that ” the Israeli government’s policy of transferring shekels is assisting the Hamas terrorists with their missile attacks on the Negev communities.”
In response, Olmert’s office wrote that “due to conclusions that there is an Israeli interest that the transfer of funds continue, a decision was made to continue to transfer certain sums of money to the Gaza Strip.”
Shurat Hadin has threatened to sue the government both in local and international courts if the transfer of funds does not cease.

I don’t doubt this . The Neocons are behind every Terrorist Organization .
The poster in question was a hit and run artist.
Posted his stuff …in your face then refused to stay and discuss . Plus He was really an unfriendly fellow .
I still maintain that before analysing who started this we have to go back…to the beginning …BOTH sides are wanting to Exterminate the other. Right from the start the Palestine backers have said they want to annihilate all jews in the region…Christians too actually.
This does not condone all the false Flags and Clandestine support from the USA and Israel for Hamas of course. BUT Look at the top post on the sidebar and see what you think about those 2 pieces YYZ…I asked Ski many times to comment ..but NOPE…he just disappeared ..
here is the link…what do you think about the history presented here in light of your statement ” sure, they can seek vengeance now but were they wise to have fostered it in the first place??”

Cui bono?
Israel needed an excuse to kick the Palestinians out of Gaza, and they got it.
The US did the same exact thing to the Indians and I’m played up raids and scalpings as justification.
Might makes right unfortunately.
Agree …unfortunately it’s the human condition. BUT in the case of “Indians” . They were also scalping eachother and burning neighboring tribes villages and stealing their horses and women. They were not just peacefully sitting around smoking weed.
When 2 “Tribes” want a piece of land …the stronger one will take it ….unless there are statesmen who can negotiate a deal beneficial for co-existance….but we are still all to tribal for that I guess
In The middle east you could ask ..who’s land is it anyhow ?
I think the 2 videos i posted above help to answer that question
