Beware of gushy sales points; consider the source; doesn’t negate the video that was posted.
Time will tell. Instead of digesting “the news” without any digestive juices to process it with, how about we wait and see what he DOES. Or DOESN’T.
Remember, Trump still thinks he saved millions of lives with the vax that is killing people like flies. Jordan has accomplished little (might be why he couldn’t pull it off as the new speaker). And so far no one anywhere in government has reigned in spending or released the J6 tapes, nor lifted a finger to helps the political prisoners rotting in jail or sentenced to outrageous prison terms, and no one in government has acted to stop the invasion on our southern border.
All I see so far is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
I’d also be leery of someone who has never held a real job in his life. I don’t consider many lawyers as having real jobs. We don’t need lawyers, we need people who will repeal laws, not make them. The LAST thing we need are more laws. The constitution alone is law enough if adhered to.
Who would you have preferred as Speaker Boomer
What would it take to make you happy
see the picture I posted of his family
see the history of when and why he adoped a youNg black teen ( a decade before he started his own family)
Law isn’t a real Job ?
Which real job have you had that is more a real job than being a Lawyer ?
I have to side with boom. Pretending that blacks have a difficult time in modern day America is what the Euros call an own goal – particularly when one considers that the young man in question grew up in an affluent family with the best of everything at hand. Despite his advantages when he applied to collage he will have received preferential treatment. Upon graduation he will have received preferential treatment when applying for jobs. It’s a bad look for the new Speaker, in my opinion. The most racist behaviour I have seen in my lifetime has been anti-white racism. It is ubiquitous. If people want a non racist society, stop talking about it. The problem will fade away over time. Anyone who thinks government can be a moral leader in any way whatsoever has not been paying attention. The new Speaker should approach his job with humility. Fix a few of the pressing problems caused by government overreach before casting about seeking to right the moral infirmities of the common man.
And where is the black kid in the family photo? Should I infer racist aspersions as to his absence? Do you see how easy this hateful game is to play? It would behove the Speaker not to play it.
The Black kid didn’t grow up in this Family. They took him in off the street when they first married…over a decade before they had the family he is now in his mid 30s and not with the family
See the cutout
Aspersions are easily cast, and the ripples from that cast go on, and on, and on. We don’t need politicians to point out our weakness. We need them to lead us toward our strength. Most of us are good people, itching to do good! Politicians find our faults, and amplify them, making it seem as though we have enemies everywhere. We don’t. We have friends everywhere. I’m sure the Speaker’s black son is doing just fine. Perhaps he should focus on the millions of sons who aren’t.
That video was from 2020 apparently.
He doesn’t seem to be focusing on his black son at this time. See the 5 most important things posted in this post…thats what the guy is focusing on and thats what you could be focusing on instead of a minor incident in his family that occured a couple of decades ago
I’m hoping this guy is for real. I also absolve him from playing politics with this racial take. There are huge numbers of blacks in Louisiana. If they need to hear that America is a racist country to support a politician, I won’t denigrate any politician for trying to get their vote. It’s a low brow tactic, but racial politics has worked in the past, and no doubt will work in the future. Conservatives hate that shit. I’m with them. I find it demeaning.
With you Strider – hope that unless he is attacked and is forced to bring it up in ‘defence’, it’s a mute point and I hope he treats it as such – and on a somewhat similar note – when republicans start talking about ballot harvesting and voting early and by mail and stuffing boxes – it’s truly GAME OVER.
