Today was my monthly Acupuncture tune-up visit. Been going for roughly 15 years. It’s covered under my Extended Health Plan to a degree. Why not go? Knock on wood, I’ve not been ill during that time or before for that matter. Let’s take out stupid sports injuries though.

I was early and could hear the cancellations come in for the week. She took me early. Why? She had 6 cancellations for today and I was near the beginning of her day.
This was typical the past few weeks. Reason? Covid or other respiratory illness.
She’s one of us but had to take shots to satisfy BC Bill C-36. All Healthcare practitioners must be jabbed.

Get this. She knows the patient’s jab status as most are proud of their shots. The one’s who cancelled today have between 4 and 6 jabs. They keep getting shots, probably get to recite the Corona Prayer after another bout and can’t wait for the next dose. No clue!

She told me the local hospital is swamped by Covid patients. I had no idea.

Afterwards, I went to a grocery store that just happened to have a Pharmacy. A nice young person was wearing a mask in line behind me. Only one in the store that I saw. I nicely asked her if masking had come back. She told me that it is required to wear a mask when getting jabbed at the Pharmacy and she just got her jab. Turns out she is a nurse and was fulfilling her requirement. Was going to tell her that her surgical mask was upside down but instead asked if she knew the mask was meant to be for surgical procedures where bodily fluids were present and it was mainly for the operator. No response.
When I mentioned that the shot makes one more vulnerable and does not prevent transmission or infection. No response. The two people in the line behind her gave me the thumbs up and smiled. The cashier winked at me as she must be one of us but could not say anything. Canadians are so reluctant to talk to others for some fear of offending. F**k them!

Phoned an old work contact yesterday when another told me that this gentleman had a recent health complication.

It turns out he came down with a rare turbo skin cancer. Showed up almost overnight. He’s had every shot offered. He’s a lifelong NYC Democrat. Biden great, Trump bad type of guy. Going in for a liver biopsy later this week with suspected Liver cancer. He mentioned that it’s going around, as many of his friends have sudden cancers. I guess it was his sense of humour. He joked his time may be up but has had a good run.

My take? It’s accelerating.
