I’ve always tried to understand how these minds work.
So, after reading the headline about Caroline Ellison, I read the Wikipedia page about her (reading Wikipedia without a bias is itself a tough ask) … when I reached “effective altruism” I paused and thought I should ask the Tent what they think? Isn’t this sadism at another level?

GL — it would be MUCH easier for those reading the tent if you used the “link” button when posting a URL.
It’s on the same page that you HAVE to use to make any post and looks like a paperclip. Post the URL inside same and the rest of us won’t have to copy/paste your posts into a search engine to figure out your point.
