The idea of the huge spending package would be to fund the proxy war through the 2024 election without having to worry about the growing opposition to the policy in Congress, as the majority of the House and the Senate currently still support arming Ukraine.
That may be what he wants, I doubt he is going to get it. Like I said about the Israeli attack, that is what they are going to get a big appropriation approved for with a chunk going to Ukraine as well. Nothing should be appropriated for either. I believe at least before Ukraine came along Israel has been the single biggest foreign aid recipient for decades. When is enough, enough?
