   Still short SPX. See that big reversal candle, where price tagged 4600 and then reversed and closed bellow 4550? On that day I entered SPY puts. Was in green for IDK around couple of weeks, then in red for couple of weeks. Even few days ago I was still in red. Only last 2-3 days I’m back in the green.

   You would think, my entry was perfect. (pure luck of course)
   Yet I’m struggling to get some decent gain from it.
   If price does come down to ma200 on this move, then I would probably get some decent gain.
   Uranium stocks are treating me much better!
   I’m going to rethink my puts strategy.
   I think I will in future rather go with some put spreads.

   An investment advisor from the 80’s spoke about Blue Chip Widows and Orphans stock in Canada Dividend Stocks). The Dot Com and Tech Stocks were years into the future.
   His premise was that the Canadian Banks and Utilities stock prices would adjust in turbulent times so that the Dividend was a point or two higher than the Central Bank Prime. He was speaking of a basket that he recommended. Temporary wild swings in rates were the exception.

   I’ve sure noticed that in my own basket of these stocks that I’ve held in a DRIP account for decades. The Share price has dropped to give a higher yield. They may still drop to give that range.

   This old seasoned Advisor used to recommend an investor put one year’s income before taxes in 5 or 6 Dividend stocks in a DRIP account as soon as you could and not touch it until you reached retirement. The growth would be impressive even in the down years when you buy more shares.

   (He chose stocks that had a history of never missing a dividend or cutting a dividend)
