Did You Know Russia is The Worlds 5th Largest Economy?
Did you know that Russia was the worlds 5th largest economy in 2022 by GDP in purchasing power parity? No? Neither did I until I came across it on a World Bank GDP chart. That must be one of the biggest and best kept secrets around. The lamestream barely covered that juicy tidbit if they gave it any coverage at all. Had anyone asked me I might have guessed Russia had an economy about the size of Argentina or maybe Portugal. But fifth largest!!! What the hell???
Bigger than Canada, bigger than France and the UK….bigger than Germany. Wow.
So they had a genuine right to be part of the G8 based on their weight alone. Here is the chart if you are curious. It was produced by the World Bank and IMF. Below that is a link with a little more explanation showing all nations courtesy of World Economics. Shocker. And an even bigger surprise is that given the sharp drop off in China’s population that is anticipated due to its high median age, Russia could reach number one economy in the world after 2050 based on its growth trajectory.

WELL BLOW ME AWAY !
Russia is Not just a Gas Station After All
Nuts isn’t it. You would think that little fact would be well known. lol
I didn’t know that Russia’s GDP was more than that of Germany. Thanks for sharing. Today’s factoid learned. A useful day.

Welcome. I had to post it. I was actually shocked when I saw that report. How could I not have known when we are talking about Russia every single day.
Sir Farmer,
I appreciate your kind reply. See, this is what makes the Tent different. You could just read it and move on, but you chose to spend those few seconds to acknowledge me.
Coming back to Russia:
Never underestimate the MSM’s unlimited power of hiding facts.
I’ve had it with my kids learning the narratives of American history, rather than the facts.
The false narratives were and are omnipresent.
We keep seeking the truth.
One day I’ll write again, what I learned as an eight year old. That imprint made me never believe any politician.
Best regards,
GL
So true GL. And I agree about the Tent. Its more like a family living room than a street space like the rest of the blog world. About false narratives though….I had fallen for many in the past just like everyone else. How could we not? When trusted people report information to us then why would we doubt them? They were victims of misinformation too. For example, the Space Program and moon landings. I was all in. Imagine my shock years later and in my late 50’s finally learning the whole thing was a damned hoax! Yes it took that long to catch on and boy did that piss me off. I could not believe how gullible I had been but then the narrative had caught virtually everyone on the wrong side of a massive lie. That won’t be happening again!
