   I wish it were as good as that.

   Some senior Tories and business men have realised that net zero is destroying our economy. Thousands of manufacturing jobs are at risk from climate targets. Our oil and gas industry has already gone from being a net exporter to being a net importer. And UK targets won’t change a thing anyway as China is increasing their carbon output. So UK net zero goals are sheer self harm.

   However what Sunak has noticed is that around the Uk motorists are rebelling against Low traffic neighbourhoods and 15 minute City proposals and the ULEZ charge in London. This came to a head last month when the Tories just retained Boris Johnson’s old Uxbridge seat in a by-election.

   Labour were expected to win it. But Labour’s London Mayor Sadiq Khan ruined their chances because of his ULEZ charge and the Labour candidate in Uxbridge (near London) was sunk. ULEZ means all vehicles that don’t meet certain strict discharge rules have to pay £12.50 every day to drive in London. It is a tax on hundreds of thousands of the poorest motorists.

   So the Tories now realise that opposing ULEZ, net zero and climate goals could help them cling onto power in next years general election.

   The trouble is they don’t mean it. They are playing games. They are building a false narrative to win an election against a Labour party that simply can’t row back on net zero because they are completely overtaken by the climate cult.

   The Tories still plan to ban the selling of petrol and diesel cars by 2030. They are committed to wind and solar energy and therefore power shortages. Also, the Climate Change Act (2008) and Environment Act (2021) mean we have to achieve net zero by 2050.

   So the Tories aren’t as bad as labour. But if they win the next election they will simply let this narrative drop and go forward with net zero anyway. So its a choice between bad and really bad.

   But the real problem is that in the UK, the political, economic and institutional elite have been taken over by the net zero. So the civil service, the church, the police and the education system are slowly changing our culture to a net zero climate emergency death cult.

   So the BBC reports the weather and fake news as if the summer is a disaster movie. The Arch Bishop of Canterbury tells us to save the world through going green. Our children are told by teachers that they are going to die unless they achieve net zero (mine were). And as you may have seen on British news, many police forces actually protect ‘Just stop Oil’ protesters when they block roads – which is illegal.

   So I would love to think we are winning. But we are not. To be clear, people are waking up in a big way. I think opposition to net zero and the global elite is going to grow. I also think this will help the Tories form a minority government next year. But the real revolution is a long way away and the work is only just beginning.

     PS…who the F**K do these a holes think they are…legislating outcomes 25 years hence

     There will be so many twists and turns in Government and sentiment before 2050…and most of these dicks will be dead ( hopefully)

     Thank you for that incisive explanation Simon. I should have suspected they were up to no good by pulling back on the green agenda. Now I realize these are just Chamelons changing with the politcial weather and nothing has really changed at all except the color of their viewpoints….and even that is only temporary.
