US National Security Experts Urge No More Weapons For Ukraine In NY Times
The experts who signed NYT statement recalled that in 1997, 50 senior U.S. foreign policy experts warned President Bill Clinton that expanding NATO was a “policy error of historic proportions”…
Last week, The New York Times published a full-page advertisement signed by 15 U.S. national security experts about the war in Ukraine. It was headed “The U.S. Should Be a Force for Peace in the World,” and was drafted by the Eisenhower Media Network.
While condemning Russia’s invasion, the statement provides a more objective account of the crisis in Ukraine than the U.S. government or The New York Times has previously presented to the public, including the disastrous U.S. role in NATO expansion, the warnings ignored by successive U.S. administrations and the escalating tensions that ultimately led to war.
Why are all the sane military / foreign policy analysts retired ?
If they are ACTIVE and speak out agains’t the narrative it would be a quick trip to COURT MARTIAL.
Only the retired can speak freely (even then they could be recalled to active duty so must be careful).
All nations should be for peace in the world. Acting as though the US is a natural for this role is laughable. They are the most war loving nation of the past century, and they get worse with each passing year. Americans should get their heads out of their asses and rein in their war loving government.
Seems if this was published in the NYT then this war project is ove. They want to move on to the next one China.
That was also my first thought on the story — NYT is the known gov’t mouthpiece — they are softening the ground for a withdrawal of US support.
This battle/military operation is proving disastrous for the MIC as their “new and improved” weapons are being destroyed in bulk.
Defeat by an “amateur army” led by a food caterer is neither a comforting picture nor a useful sales tool in the global arms race!
