I’ve met a few Day Traders over the years. The time period of the hold could be less than a week to as short as a few hours. My life is exciting enough with my mundane daily routine w/o complicating it with watching a monitor.

I never saw these people when the markets were open. it was a full time job. Knew someone who traded the 2x and 3x Bear and Bull ETFs exclusively. His position was always closed every day as they can be reset overnight. He said he did very well.

I agree that getting the direction correct and sitting tight can be very rewarding.
