It was the last day of the Ski season and the Legendary “Top to Bottoms” race was the last official event. It is a race from the Top of the Mountain to Bottoms Bar and the winner is the first participant who “rings the bell”.

It is usually one of the bar’s best days for food and drink, closing out the season, spilling out onto their outdoor balcony and beyond.

During the day a retired Branch MD told me that the bar’s 42yo chef died suddenly in his sleep. The bar was closed all day. I didn’t stick around to see the finish of the race but there would be no food service. I joking said it must be Climate change to which he replied seriously, “It could be the altitude”. I am assuming he was vaccinated up the ying-yang.

You would think that this would have caught the attention of 100’s of patrons of the Bar and the whole village but I bet it’s not covered in the local online rag.

I met many new people yesterday. I heard of ailments that have mysteriously manifested the past year. Some admitted that it was after their shot. I didn’t say anything as it was a festive mood. The main complaint was lack of energy.
