Total red herring. Yes, Thune has been a McConnell lieutenant and next in line. Yes, the Republicans, particularly those in the Senate are largely part of the uniparty. What does that have to do with choosing a Presidential candidate? People are so hung up on the fact that Trump being an outsider and independent is the ONLY candidate who isn’t going to be another uniparty candidate. That isn’t necessarily true. People like Pence, Nikki Haley, Pompeo and many others are uniparty and largely neocons and we don’t want them but every position that DeSantis has taken(and not just talked about) and implemented in Florida are exactly the positions that need to be implemented in the country as a whole. Against foreign interventions that aren’t in US interests which every other candidate goes along with being involved in Ukraine. Trump was the best last time. His time has come and gone. He was cheated out of a second term. That doesn’t automatically make him the candidate for 2024. There will be a campaign and debates and primaries and DeSantis will show the rest of the country what the residents in Florida have seen over the last 4 plus years.
I’ll settle for either one….in fact i’d be thrillied with either one
