Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is calling homosexuality deviancy and his parlaiment has brought foward a bill prescribing the death penalty for what they term “aggravated homosexuality.” The sentiment is common across most of Africa where leaders, lawmakers and the public are widely outraged by the attempts of Western nations to impose LGBTQ lifestyles on traditional and morally conservative societies.

Some like Museveni are taking an unexpected hardline approach as the pressure on Africans has increased in the past two years. Had it not been for the West imposing its values on Africans there would not likely have been this backlash. The current bill that has just gone before the Uganda Parliament was passed by its lawamakers on March 21st and now awaits assent by the President.
