Follows Blinken’s “opportunity” remarks…

Days after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the sabotage attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines a “tremendous opportunity” – the UK’s top defense chief expressed something similar, describing Putin and his war on Ukraine as “a gift” to the NATO alliance.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace addressed the 2-day Warsaw Security Forum on Tuesday, and talked about the need for “a wake-up call” for NATO countries. He then went on to say, according to the Associated Press:

…many nations in Europe had become complacent after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and that Russian President Vladimir Putin has become “in a sense, a gift to NATO.”
