A discussion with a Branchie who is running for local council
The “nice” man was going door to door canvassing as he will be running in the next local election in the Fall (extremely early).
I had met him before. A semi-retired University Prof. Never had a meaningful discussion with him about any topic previously.
Fair game that I ask his position on certain topics.
After the first question it became quite apparent that I should stop while I was ahead. He was a Branchie.
The first question concerned the Covid response in our village. His response was, “safe and effective” shots and we need to protect everyone. He’s up to date and felt everyone should be as well.
Just to get to the point. Here’s his shortened responses to questions:
-Trucker’s Freedom Convoy —–Evil people causing noise in Ottawa. They don’t have the support of Canadians.
-Dutch Farmer’s rebellion——-Never heard of it
-the Russian SMO—–the Legacy media position
-your thoughts on Biden——-great leader! (he’s an expat US citizen)
-Covid truthers——-uninformed people that should be punished for not doing the right thing. No bodily autonomy.
-the Global Digital ID with CBDC (a social credit system)—–it will never happen here or anywhere else (he had no idea about China’s experience
-the demise of the USD as the reserve currency—–will never happen
-WEF and Trudeau and Freeland’s relationship——never heard about it. Great people!
-the gender issue——about time (pronouns, etc) giving kids a choice
I responded to all of his answers. Apparently I am “misinformed” according to him. He is typical of who is running in our local municipal elections. Has no curiosity and is a follower. Does not like to be challenged or have a debate.
I broke my cardinal rule of avoiding a discussion with a Branchie.
On another note, we received a letter in the mail from the local supporters of Jean Charest for Conservative leader. It was signed by about 10 well known local persons. For all I know they could be liberals. Even our Conservative MP had his name attached. I will be voting for the Conservative Party not for him specifically.
On the outside of the envelope it was written in bold letters, “I’m on the side of law-abiding Canadians. Pierre Poilievre is on the side of lawbreakers and illegal blockaders!!” Did anyone else receive the same in their area?
He’s out of touch with the grass root Conservative voters at least in our area and the Praires. He’s on Team Turdo.
Charest is a long shot to win the leadership but if he does, Canada will be lost.
SHEESH !
You are a patient man Columbia…I would have kicked him in the nuts
It is astounding there are people like this after all this bullshit is being exposed …and they run for “office ” ?
You live amongst the insane
Id do that to Charest…..what a negative, thoughtless tactic.
I was outside attending to some maintenance at the time. The dog went ballistic but was on a tether. I think my neighbours heard our conversation 🙂
He was told by my neighbour down the street not to hang his literature on the front doorknob as these are mostly second homes and the owners will not return until ski season. An invitation for a break-in if it stays there. Luckily the property managers will eventuallyremove them as they know the potential for advertising the place is unoccupied.
What did the AH do? He left one on every doorknob. My neighbour is going around today to remove them all.
I got one of those “I’m on the side of law abiding Canadians” letters.
It didn’t last 2 seconds, the envelope and contents were shredded on the spot before I opened the envelope.
I sort of know our conservative MP, (Frank K – I won’t publish his full name here ) I spoke with him during the byelection after MP Kathy Macleod retired.
He was a law professor at TRU at the time. He agreed with my concerns about liberal thought pollution at Canadian universities. So yeah, I voted for him. Later, when O’toole was ousted I spoke with him about electing the new Conservative Leader. He said Poilievre was too radical, too populist, too much like Trump.
Well, I lost it. Never spoke with him again. I consider Frank K. a closet liberal, and a traitor to the cause. It figures he would be a Charest supporter. Anyway, I don’t think Charest can muster more than 6 votes altogether. And that’s 6 votes too many.
Another Marxist professor. They breed them in the universities. Like cockroaches, they then emerge into the sunlight.
Apart from Jordon Peterson, most “retired” University professors are pure Marxists.
These are the people who have turned Universities into Marxist institutions.
