How many simulations have been undertaken and with each one the PLA wins hands down against the US in battle against Taiwan. In a potential battle today between a US carrier strike group and a peer or near-peer adversary, a mere half-dozen ships with an extremely limited number of defenses will face massed salvos of hundreds of cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, supersonic and hypersonic anti-ship missiles, and dozens of submarines with many hundreds of torpedoes – all of which deploy large modern warheads capable of inflicting a mortal blow against any of the ships in the group.
US naval power apologists may argue that the array of defenses on these ships is much more capable than in World War II. But it simply does not matter. It won’t be enough. It’s truly baffling why very few talk about the futility of western naval strategies. Hypersonic missiles have made surface ships obsolete, and that includes aircraft carriers. I’m no expert, but if you can’t stop a missile that an opponent can put in your back pocket from a thousand miles away, you should probably re-think the whole plan.

Nevertheless China has indicated support of WEF positions as long as they mirror China objectives and clearly they are preparing for a. Hot war (as is Russia by sending in the reserves to Ukraine and keeping the 1st line military on standby……..putin/Lavrov have made this quite clear in public statements.
It’s not a conspiracy theory when they tell the world in advance that X, Y or Z is going to happen if the world does A,B or C — we just don’t know when!
They’re ready, K2, but they would rather not engage. The west is committing suicide, and our opponents are smart enough not to intercede. Why go to war, when you can go to sleep, secure in the knowledge, that when you awake your enemy will have disappeared?

And at this point, it will take several generations to find our (philosophical) way back.
By then, the hole will be too deep to climb out of. The West will have been marginalized, like the Native Americans were before them.
