Shipping backlog
I’m trying to understand the news of diesel shortages all over the world. We can all see the higher prices at the pump in our own geographic areas. We are seeing fewer container ships on the major routes, especially from China. That translates to fewer long and short haul trucks required to distribute the goods. Also the truck part shortages are real. Same as for automobiles. I’ve experienced this over the past year and was told that it is very common.
I would think that there must be a decline in the consumption of diesel fuel overall. Bunker and jet fuel as well. I’m not in a position to know the answers.
Does anyone have stats on the above?
Ok, I don’t have stats but do have some info.
Because of the rise in diesel prices, some refineries are re-tooling to produce diesel instead of gasoline. So, guess what will happen to the price of gasoline as supplies decline???
Also, refineries are shifting production to meet specific fuel blend requirements of commie states like Kalifornia. So, less diesel available, less gasoline available while this takes place.
Food stuffs are being diverted to fuel production because it is more “profitable.”
I have not heard of any shortages of jet fuel as of yet. When/if that hits, airfares will necessarily rise along with fuel prices, no doubt about it.
At some point the system will break down completely and suppliers will have to resort to rationing – hopefully before our commie government institutes wage and price controls. Which, of course, would guarantee a sharp decline in supply, period.
It’s a mess, and I personally cannot see any way out of what has been unleashed. Can’t turn the clock back, and we are in, as they say, uncharted territory.
“Planned” uncharted territory designed to collapse an existing working system and replace it with something new — because they can!
Let’s not underestimate the creativity and ingenuity of the people that make America work just yet despite the clowns in DC.
