   Well thanks for the update on this. I have often wondered if he was still active. I have his last book “goldbug” sitting on my bookshelf. He was one of the original “characters” that emerged from the 70’s gold boom. He had quite a fanatic following. He had his original uranium A-hole following (a recently coined term reflecting this current crop) I recall going to a conference around 2006 maybe being these fanatic Dines groupies. Just shows how people respond to rising prices. Kinda like Bitcoiners a year ago.

   But I suppose one of the more entertaining aspects of Dines is he would hire total knock out babes to staff his convention booth. I found myself thinking “really? these girls can’t really know anything can they? Well of course they can’t but they sure attracted a crowd.

   Back in 2019 Heritage auctions featured a number of James Dine’s $20 double eagles. I was able to acquire one of his coins and 1926 at just a small premium over melt. The coin was “damaged” because PCGS deemed it was cleaned. Nevertheless it is a gorgeous coin and I’m happy to have it in my stack.
