Okay FGC, this may not qualify as “good” news, but it’s by no means bad. An anecdote for you:
Yesterday I was at the local Safeway in Vancouver stocking up on inexpensive sale meat for the dog (I home cook for him; not that he’s fussy, it’s my belief that a meal of chopped cilantro and baked yam and some sort of meat is better for him than kibble…but I digress) anyway, there were 5 cashiers working the checkout tills, all behind the requisite plexiglass. I selected the only one that wasn’t wearing a mask.
After ringing my purchase through, he asked if I was collecting Air Miles. I replied no, and he asked if I wanted him to fill out a card so I could start doing so.
I interrupted my bagging of the groceries, glanced about furtively, stuck my head behind the plexiglass and said “there’s no point in my collecting air miles because I’m forbidden to fly because I refused to take the damn shots”
I expected him to recoil in horror, as so many do. But instead, his face broke into a broad grin and he said “neither did I”
I almost squealed and high-fived him, but exercised restraint and just said emphatically “good for you”. He went on to say the damn things don’t work and all of this is wrong, and I agreed.
I left the supermarket in higher spirits than when I entered.
That’s what I’m talking about GMG 🙂
