Look for a middle man to emerge either directly or more likely covertly to buy Russian gas in Rubles and sell to Germany and others in Euros. For the moment the German govt. is balking on paying in Rubles. Someone not adhering to the sanctions, whether it be China, India or someone else will take advantage of the arbitrage opportunity to buy the Russian gas and mark it up to the Europeans.
