As of today, financial institutions with be “authorized or directed” to “prohibit the use of property” or freeze accounts – personal or corporate- if the institution suspects that the account holder is financing illegal blockades.

There needs to be a court order in place.
To get a court order, there is a right to appeal.
Emergencies Act overrides requirement for normal court orders and gives PM almost unlimited authority to do whatever he deems necessary. Right to appeal may be there if you have years to wait and tens of thousands to spend but avg citizen will SOL by time it ever gets in front of a judge.
Perhaps this is an effort to rachet up the violence in order to justify excessive force — ie the Australian playbook????
