I am not familiar with Canadian law and election procedures. Is it possible that MP’s can call for a vote of no confidence and get rid of Castreau? Or did that ship sail since he just got re-elected so recently?
All it takes is his caucus…a majority of Liberal MPs to vote him down as their leader
he was not chosen by the people. He won his riding and was chosen leader by his party which has a Minority in the House of Commons
But with 4 Parties splitting the vote his party is given the right to Chose the PM.
Also the 3 other parties if they band together and vote Non Confidence..that would trigger an election…I think

It would, but the NDP would have to pull it’s support from the government. I have no doubt that the NDP leadership has been purchased in advance. Their fool leader was among the first to defame the truckers as racists and bigots. The people need to be heard loud and clear on this matter. To invoke emergency measures against a peaceful protest is outrageous. I can’t believe that the Liberal Party has allowed this to get so out of hand. All these people are insane!
CM — am not sure that many outside of parliamentary lawyers know what exactly the rules are after the War Measures Act is invoked. This is untested territory as it’s never been used period — not to mention that this time the target is a peaceful citizen protest.
I believe the Liberals have 10 days to get this approved by both parliament and the Senate but other than that they may just be on the verge of turning Canada into Australia North. They already have concentration camps built across the country so perhaps they intent to now fill them! We all shall find out together!
In the meantime, truckers don’t “need” to be in Ottawa to protest — the entire industry could simply agree to “not truck” until the goals are met and the fascism revoked! There would be no-one to incarcerate if they all simply chose not to come to work…….
