Masks and QR codes
On the way home from picking up a piece of furniture in The Lower Mainland, I went in a small brew pub serving food and selling their beer. Had the mandatory mask and Vaxx Passport notice on the door. I walked in with my mask at half mast. Went up to the nice young lady at the bar and asked if I could buy a mix and match selection. She: “Yes, of course can I scan your QR code.” Me: “Do you want to sell some beer?” She: She looked around seeing the place empty. “Yes go ahead.”
Never been there before so I didn’t know how tough they would be. Things are really relaxing. Same as at the Hardware and grocery store wearing the mask at half mast and asking clerks for assistance with no confrontation. It’s over! Two weeks ago they would have said pull your F..king mask up.
Next step is to become ungovernable, do not comply but be polite. Any establishment that continues to require masks lose business. The truth is out there. They can’t fine or arrest us all.
Here in Toronto too. A week ago I even saw a cashier in a grocery store with her nose sticking out. I’ve never worn my mask over the nose unless someone asks me to and I decided ahead of time that that’s how I’d deal with any confrontation so I’m not just reacting in the heat of the moment. Nobody seems to care anymore here just like you’re saying out there. I was talking to 3 employees at a Home Depot because I was looking for a snow shovel (big storm 2 weeks ago) and the first one took me to another who was talking to her manager and they all explained that they really were completely out of every kind of snow shovel. None of them said anything about my mask when before, this was the one place that had a guard at the door who before would tell me to pull it up over the nose. No guard anymore either. I don’t know if it’s just exhaustion or the effect of omicron making covid look like not just a mild flu but a mild cold, but people seem much more relaxed.
