I am tired of reading and hearing about eviction moratoriums. The supreme court made the correct ruling about the CDC not having the authority, but that isn’t the point. Why was a moratorium ever needed? Yes, because of the Covid lockdowns etc. many people lost jobs and or income from their businesses. The programs put in place for the unemployed, small business owners etc. provided in most cases more money in extra UE benefits, loans, grants not to mention stimulus checks and child tax care credits etc. so that a large portion of the citizenry actually had more money coming in than before Covid. So why would you not continue paying your rent or mortgage? The money wasn’t for purchases or to speculate on Robinhood with Meme stocks or Bitcoin, it was for food, shelter and the basics. Just another BS boondoggle to purposely wreck the economy and move toward socialist dependency on the state.
