Thanks to user fees drug companies pay the FDA, the number and speed of drug approvals have been increasing over time — so have the number of drugs that end up having serious safety issues.
It’s called regulatory capture. Same as SEC and CFTC and others. They pay fees (and fines when slapped on the wrist) but the important, big money rulings always go in favor of industry. Legalized bribery.
