New Doctor
My Doctor and Friend retired recently. I was with him over 40 years.
So I have been assigned a new Doctor.
I got a call that I am to go for a blood test .
I have not met this new Doctor so I decided I will pick up the requisition form and go get the blood test so I will “meet” him…by telephone ( I don’t do video conferencing)
I have been thinking how to answer in short form his question “Have you had your vaccination yet ?”
Here is what I have settled on after dozens of trials.
Right now there are 24 million covid positive people in the world . 23 million 9 hundred thousand have mild to no symptoms. So Our immune systems have a 99.6 % success rate at keeping us out of the critical range. But the vaccines have “only” a 95% success Rate.
If I have a positive case my odds of getting really sick are 4 in 1000. If I take the vaccine these odds are 50 in 1000 …over 1000% worse ! So now tell me why I need the vaccine ?
If he says to protect others…he is in DEEP SHIT !
🙂
LMFAO, thanks for sharing Fully.
Please provide updates.
None of his damn business if you have had the shot or not.
You’re right; if he says “to protect others” he is totally clueless and it it weren’t so impossible to find new doctors, I’d suggest running the other way.
“Assigned” ??
“I got a call that I am to go for a blood test” ?? WTF!
Very foreign concepts for those of us south of JustinaLand.
I haven’t called ‘my doc’ in 15 years. And he doesn’t call me.
No need to test my blood. Its red. I confirm that now and then.
Another late evening amusement post from Fully. Let him have it, my friend, if he deserves it.
Hope your blood is still good…
Down here, getting blood work is a good idea at our age. Blood gives early warning signals on a variety of fronts. But it’s still a voluntary thing, usually requiring initiative by the patient – unless the patient has complained about something for which blood work would be helpful in diagnosis.
My inclination is to avoid docs unless I know something is off kilter. The one time I did that, it saved my life – well, at least it saved 80% of my left lung immediately, avoiding the loss of the entire lung and possibly more damage than that. I do tend towards hyperbole.
The stated 99.6% rate of not becoming critical must also be put in context that this is for the entire general population. If one is fit and not overweight it is far higher, exceeding 99.9%
Exactly Plunger.
The chances of ending up in the hospital with this thing for YOU is infantissimal
