Neighbors To The North
On Friday, I implored everyone to take advantage of the fact that it was the day that the charts of silver, gold and just about every miner, were completing their bottom patterns. I explained with the US markets closed today, there is a very good chance tomorrow will see very large opening gaps to the upside. To our many neighbors to the North,(and elsewhere around the globe) you get a bonus. If you didn’t finish your buying on Friday, you can do so today while probably only paying slightly more. Better today, than chasing tomorrow. The “Terrific Ten” have yet to explode higher(excepting GSV).
Correction: Did not know it is Family Day in Canada. Enjoy your families.
I don’t know if I’d exactly call what’s happening with GSV an explosion higher. More like a spurt, then tank. We’ll see. I was sucked in again after losing a lot with this pathetic loser. I hope it will be worth it. I’ll dump it once is cancels out what I lost with it.
Definitely an explosion higher. Did you not buy at .65,.70, .75? I don’t mean to be critical but I have to. You are not the only one who has complained about GSV. If you use charts and buy at support and either trade when it’s extended or especially if it created a large gap on the way up you would be doing better with it. Don’t blame a stock that went up 50+% in 11 days if you didn’t get in until everyone else already did. Sorry to be harsh but that is a fact and you are not the only one who has done the same thing with this stock.
Ha! You just described to a “t” the typical investor in precious metal stocks…
I fully understand where you’re coming from. I’m just angry at myself for getting sucked into this particular miner which has done nothing but lose money for the entirety of its existence. I mistakenly bought during dips during its run from the beginning of 2016 to now. Finally sold at a big loss after a big win leading to late 2016 when I should have sold. I got greedy and listened to others who said it was going higher in the face of its wretched fundamentals. I was in a dream world world GSV. The fantasy turned into a losing puke as I gave up all my losses, buying and selling toward the end at precisely the wrong time and watched as every bad choice I made finally turned into a huge loss each time thinking it can’t go any lower, and it did and then some. Its ride from 2017 to now has been a perfect sucker’s game for the inexperienced trader like me.
I meant to say. “…I gave up all my gains.”
I understand where your coming from and appreciate your situation. I can only say this. If you buy on dips, and don’t take too large a position, I believe you will be rewarded before this bull run is over. No guarantees, but this is one that I fully expect to be taken over, eventually. Not at some crazy high valuation, but at least 2-3 times it’s current market cap. Be right. Sit tight. Best wishes.
I just realized why many have such bad feelings towards GSV. I have only been following it for a year and although, I looked back at the chart and see like many miners that have been around for a while, it was considerably higher back in 2007 in US and even higher in 2005 in Canada. I get it. Just take a fresh approach and treat it as if it is a completely new stock and you never followed it before. Trust the chart and only the chart.
I can’t figure out why sometimes I can edit a post and most times I can’t. I’d like to avoid coming across as an illiterate fool as well as the inexperienced trader that I am. I made the mistake of getting sucked into gold stocks years ago. They have a particularly insidious hold on me, as most other investments have gone to the moon. Gold stocks swim in the sewer, occasionally poking their heads above the swirling miasma emanating from the surface of their dank, putrid dwelling place, only to dive again into the deadly soup that they drink from and beckon humans hoping for riches to take sup with and drown in. Anyone think Gogold’s going higher? I do.
That was a great paragraph of prose MJ. I don’t follow GoGold but have heard the name a few times. A quick look at the chart shows a definite winner displaying relative strength and looking like another upside breakout coming soon.
I’ve done well with GoGold. Up 55% before selling, then buying again recently because, even to my inexperienced eyes, it looks like it’s just biding its time before moving up again. It’s also primarily a silver miner.
The silver component probably explains why unlike most gold stocks it has been correcting in time rather than price.
I meant to say, “…edit a response.” I know I can edit a post.
