JS KUNSTLER’S YEAR END REVIEW
OK : I assume we all have a few days off here and some time on our hands
pedro sent this to me and now a reader has also sent it . Thanks E. V.
This is a wonderful and well researched and very Long recap of where we are and where Kunstler thinks we are going.
It is very uplifting IMHO. You will feel better after reading this piece !
He has very similar thoughts as I have been having regarding
Trump
The Great Reset
BLM and Antifa
and much much more.
Brilliant
Just finished reading it from elsewhere and was about to post here. For those with short attn. span here is a paragraph I highlighted. “What else is in the Reset grab-bag? Supposedly a single world currency, also absurd for reasons already stated — unless you are talking about gold and silver, which may eventually become the universally-accepted medium of exchange (and store of value, index of price) if the post-industrial contraction is severe and destructive enough. But fuggeddabowt “digital currencies,” especially in the USA because too many people are “un-banked,” or otherwise depend on cash-money in the informal “gray” economy of just-getting-by (and there will be a lot more of these types as the middle-class gets pounded further down into the mud), plus a large cohort of digitally-capable people just plain ornery about being herded into an IRS surveillance cul-de-sac — and the whole lot of them will fight like hell to prevent government-sponsored crypto-dollars from replacing what used to be considered money. And, if, in the unlikely event that rebellion fails, it’s back to gold and silver by default — and that might literally mean by default.”
Indeed, like Chartsmaster I was going to post it here and you beat me to it. Good work, Fully!!
Kunstler is always thought provoking and certainly does not fail here. Surprise: we are going from an oil glut to an oil “shortage” which only translates to higher prices. As Moriarty is fond of saying, the cure for low prices is low prices…
Also appreciate him pointing out that Russia is well positioned to thrive…
And it got me thinking more about growing some food – easy to do; we planted a 4 X 8 raised bed garden as a “test” and were overwhelmed with food. I calculate four of such beds would feed a family of four with veggies for 4 – 5 months. Do some canning and now you are up to 6 – 8 months. Fun to grow this stuff, too. And inexpensive. Right now I have two tomato plants and three pepper plants growing in pots on our RV site in Florida. Peppers will start being picked in another two weeks, tomatoes in another 45 days. We won’t be able to eat all the tomatoes, nor the peppers. They are prolific!! One of our neighbors set up a nifty hydroponic system (2′ x 8′ and 6′ tall) and we are incapable of keeping up with his ongoing harvest of lettuce, spinach, and broccoli. Not to mention herbs…
Time to give a rethink to what to do and how to do it to prepare for what’s coming. Time grows short. Also glad I keep a small stash of cash on hand. Ya never know…..
“You will feel better after reading this piece !” Thanks Fully, it surely made my day.
