5 min walk from my house in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Mr. Ford is the premier of the province.  In Canada health matters are primarily a provincial jurisdiction and so the recent Covid-19 enslavement acts are a product of his leadership and personal discretion.  A few months ago he managed to get the provincial parliament to extend the 28 day limit to emergency powers to a full year at his own discretion.  No parliamentary vote required anymore. Permanent “emergency” and lockdown whenever and however he wants.  His campaign slogan when he was elected a few years ago was “Ontario: Open for Business”.  He recently moved the capital and largest city, Toronto, backwards into increased lockdown restrictions and came up with a new system of color codes and so on, and so on, and so on…
