DRD JNUG AGQ and Penny Stocks.
As money managers we have to consider where to put our valuable resources. Our money. DRD JNUG AGQ are all up about 9%. They are not equal however. DRD has no time decay like JNUG AGQ
and other leveraged ETF’s. Penny stocks are risky. They may or may not make it. Solid producers like DRD are a surer thing than a home run by a penny stock. I have seen many people in many bull markets make no money in spite of huge gains in the market. Why take needless risks? People with little capital tend to go for long shots to make up for their lack of capitalization. In a normal gold bull market the average gold stock goes up say 30-40 fold. That’s real. Not pie in the sky. Lots of gold stocks go up 70-80 fold. I am talking producers. Not pie.
The safest way to make money in a gold bull market is to buy physical silver. Boring but as close to a sure thing as I can think of.
Hey Noman,
Thanks! I had never heard of DRD until you highlighted it here. IMO, they have a great business model with a shit ton OZ.s still to recover. 🙂 I especially like picking up the high beta names after a considerable draw down. Picked up a position at $11.56. It’s happy hour somewhere. Cheers!!
As an aside…I’ve taken an outsized position in TDRRF. The drill results are insane for g/t over meters. When I look at the valuation of Seabridge and compare it to Tudor. It’s a no brainer IMO, especially in a gold bull. FWIW, maybe you want to check it out.
I have to chuckle in that I’m highlighting a risky bet in your thread which is more about going with a surer bet. I agree with you. Of the risky bets, TDRRF is one that I’m betting on though…
What % of portfolio is outsized?
I limit positions in individual stocks to 2%. TDDRF is at 3%. I’m currently sitting on 10% china etfs, 60% large cap US etfs, and ~25% individual gold stocks.
Look at AUG … up 26% in two days … oh pie in the sky post is gone!
Never mind my earlier comment regarding “pie in the sky post is gone” …
Everything good.
Between me and my mentor I have over 100 years of institutional memory. Countless stories of shooting for the moon only to crash and burn. I remember talking to a gal who owned redhat and it went from 2 to 200 or something and they spent wildly, bought a jet, and forgot to sell. They lost everything.
Me turtle.
