CO2 and the “Greening” of the Planet
I suppose this is contraversial .
.. But if you are exhausted from all the BAD news about the Virus and The Atmosphere and Killer Hornets and West Nile making a comeback and on and on.
It is refreshing to see an alternative take on CO2 .
These Scientists in New Zealand have some Good news to share.
Each of use can decide if this a reasonable assumption or not. But from what I understand Plants and humans have a symbiotic relationship
Plants “Inhale” CO2 and “Exhale” Oxygen while Mammals do the opposite.
From a News source called “Natural News”

just a little background….

and more currently,
Enviro’s are disappointed that covid is only putting a temporary dent in C02 emissions. Read about their dismay in this article.
https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/19/21262259/greenhouse-gas-emissions-carbon-drop-climate-change-coronavirus
“Scientists and environmentalists, however, aren’t exactly optimistic about the drop in greenhouse gas emissions. The dramatic fall is the result of governments temporarily shutting down businesses and people staying home to avoid spreading the novel coronavirus. But that alone isn’t enough to pump the brakes on climate change. Without more systemic and long-lasting changes to how society operates, pollution could come back with a vengeance once the pandemic subsides.”
I refuse to put bumper stickers on my car but always thought “Save the Planet Kill Yourself” would be a good one.
LOL..
I love eating watermelon in the morning. It tastes like victory!
Problem with their take of the matter is, it is quite selective.
Acidification of the oceans by additional CO2 is something that is going to have a serious impact.
Examples
With increasing acidity levels of their habitat juvenile clown fish show a sort of life changing change in their behavior, instead of fleeing potential predators, they start approaching them. Aussy study 2017
Seabass tend to lose their sense of smell making it harder for them to sustain themselves, to grow and reproduce. French study 2019
Same with any life form employing exoskeleton, shells and such, these have to spend more effort and energy to sustain their protective shells and skeleton structures which limits their growth as a protective measure against predators and hinders reproduction, this spells troubles for crustaceans, shells of all kinds, coral reefs ….
Pull my finger!
You seem to be a really smart dude.
Any idea what that will do to the food chain? Probably not.
Thanks Bertone
I hadn’t understood what this dOes to fish
good point.
You know more than I about some of these unintended consequences.
Still much to consider with an open mind
