   I saw my next door neighbor come out of his house yesterday wearing a mask. Why would anyone wear a mask at home? I always thought he was such a smart guy –until lately.

     I’ve found out during this “pandemic” that intelligent and balanced people are rare. And the brainwashed are legion. The world is ripe for a global totalitarian government.

     I sometimes wear one just because I’m absent minded and will be forced to wear one later. I usually wear it dangling from my ear under such circumstances but sometimes I forget and just put it on.

     Let me note some demographic anecdotal observations.

     Without giving too much detail, let me state that I have some familiar contact with areas of the US in a region with relatively high mortality rate imputed to Covid-19. These areas and this region in general vote heavily for the Donkeys (no offense to FGC animal). The Infection is said to be now Under Control (but only barely and we must be extremely careful and there may be severe penalties).

     I have the strong impression that in urban and some suburban (not necessarily the wealthier suburban) areas of one state and in a near-urban park masks are often worn reluctantly. I wear my mask dangling on my ear and put it on if the other person is wearing. Often the other person does something similar. Often I come across groups with mixed wearing. Often people aren’t wearing. I would bet the non-wearers vote D routinely or RHINO or at least have. Not to give a misleading idea, some I think wear enthusiastically. Median age for my observations maybe 25 at most 35.

     In a 2nd area — rural with many older people — in 2016 heavy, heavy, heavy HRC voting but with strong Trump and Green + Sanders dissident factions (again, think cranky older people — I’m one so I can say it). Pro-mask fanaticism and extreme social distancing and more obsessiveness prevails. I won’t go into details but local places, town gov’t and private, often seem to demand observance way over and above what is required by the state. Extreme Karenism from ancient Karens enthusiastically administered also by younger Karens, males included. Some people definitely including some older folk seemed irritated by the karenisms. Median age as a guess maybe 60 or so for what I encounter. In any case, maskarama squared.

     So relatively young and urban populations (including “liberals”) I am wondering are getting fed up and are on the verge of being totally out of control for the authorities whereas older HRC”liberal”/types may just love it. Small unscientific sample. Just wondering whether anyone else has similar impressions.

       to clarify the overall region for both areas — relatively high mortality imputed to COVID-19 last winter and spring — now the region said by our Ds and Rhinos to be almost in the clear but only because under tight mask and distancing control etc etc so we must keep things going and watch out for those from elsewhere who might not be so likely to be so sterile and pure and enlightened who have to be quarantined.
