Loading ...Kirkland Lake?
Conjectures on Kirkland Lake, anyone? KL’s chart has often been intriguing in recent days IMO.
As you probably know, they have announced they are selling shares in Ossisko Mining and Novo. They already had lots of cash. I have seen several theories.
One is that Tony Makuch is preparing KL up to be bought by Barrick, maybe Newmont. My uneducated guess is no, but how would I know?
Other conjectures I have seen are that he is raising cash to buy Great Bear or Wesdome. (I suppose he could be preparing to buy both, but I haven’t seen that idea.) He does specialize in high grade mines. Maybe there is a different purchase he’s considering.
I see Wesdome has been up around 9% or more today. The jump is attributed to a great quarterly report, but I wonder whether someone knows something or strongly suspects something. Just a dumb, uninformed thought on my part. (I own WDO and KL from years ago; also some Barrick and NEM so it’s all just shuffling for me.)
Ideas?

That’s my “guess” expand Detour…
Along those lines of thought are that KL (or Sprott in anticipation of moves by KL) will invest in, buy from, buy into, etc etc Midland, Probe, Melkior (all of which along with WLBMF I own in smallish amounts) and 1 or more others around Detour). I forget which one or ones he is on the board of, but at least one of them. Who knows? Makuch probably does.
My completely undeducated guess — or fantasy — is that he buys one or more of them or the relevant properties but makes a go at buying Wesdome also.

You can make analogous conjectures with Wesdome buying properties around Kiena similar to KL buying properties around Detour. Midelmass of WDO in an interview of a month or so ago said that at their processing facility at Kiena they have too much capacity so they are looking to buy mines or properties about ready to mine near Kiena to add to Kiena’s output once Kiena gets going.
(rest of disclosure–I have relatively few shares of GBR–I missed that one early on and got on board late.)
Amazing to think that $1000 invested in 2013 would’ve returned a million Dollars by now…
For those that bought and held.. that saw the big picture. Lots of the small caps now could be the next KL… will we bail out at 5 bagger? Or ride to the 100 bagger? Now in a PM bull market.. gotta hold until cycle low.. or worst case till end of bull era.
Cycle high.. not low!
