Fully, just read the article from the link. The most pathetic part of the article is where people could get this drug over-the-counter, for 50 yrs, but NOW people have to have a prescription to get a supply!! thanks for posting.
I have not read the article, at least not yet, but in the US, at least where I have lived in the US, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine have long been prescription drugs for decades and not over the counter drugs.
However no big deal was made about them (none of what amounts to the blatant lying or near lying that has been going on about horrible they are supposed to be), but they do have their side effects (retinal changes in some people mainly after long term use, potentially significant blood disturbances in some people with certain hereditary blood disorders, and potentially I think cardiac arrhythmias in those predisposed). But they were prescribed readily and dispensed readily by pharmacies, especially hydroxychloroquine (fewer side effects than chloroquine). If given chronically, daily especially for year after year, a compulsive prescriber might have had a careful ophthalmological exam for retinal changes done every so often but I think that was about it for most people. I don’t even think prescribers batted an eye in prescribing for many cardiac patients at the routine doses for malaria prophylaxis or treatment rheumatological disease though I presume a good physician would have considered specific cardiac status and would have checked the hematology to rule out specific contraindications. Not my area of expertise, but I think checking will confirm.
I would think that aspirin has a worse rap sheet. Probably various other over the counter drugs.
Exactly…For the amount of doses prescribed and taken ( many millions ) there are little to NO reports of bad side effects.
I swallowed the party line that there was some risk…similar risk in eating an apple !
I think this whole business with HCQ tells us how corrupt the world has become. For political power, for money, health authorities are ready to let people die rather than give them a proven cure when administered at an early stage of the disease. How can we trust the policians and health authorities with anything now? Vaccines. No thanks. We have murderers running the show with social media hacks their accomplices. Anyone who assisted in this cover up should be brought to justice. I believe these front line doctors have seen patients cured and know what they are talking about. There are hundreds of these doctors who have used HCQ.
