Soon we will all be watching those sign language folks that most of us ignore now when the gurus speak.
Mouth = Mask; Eyes = Face shield; Ears = Ear muffs …speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil! It’s going to be like a big monastery soon.
You know, I have mixed feelings. Much of today I have been preparing, trying to calm myself so I don’t have a big fight with a bureaucrat tomorrow with whom I had a skirmish yesterday over arbitrary rules. I think that if I get too angry I lose the battle.
Yet it is a bad bug for some and perhaps precautions aren’t the worst idea. Even if it is only bad for certain groups, which may include people who are hypothetically overtreated perhaps in a wrong and dangerous way but otherwise might do ok, these are people. Also, perhaps there could be a mutation for the worse. Some of us like to take precautions in many parts of our lives for which we may be ridiculed. In my opinion all too many things have been introduced too fast in recent decades without due caution (think of various chemical, biological, psychological, and physical agents that are new that many of us try to avoid). Therefore it may not be too bad if individuals choose to take extra precautions, or if extra precautions are universally taken under certain circumstances (nursing homes, for example).
On the other hand, the censorship and ramming stuff down from above, at times distorted and untrue, raises strong questions about its validity. If anything vaguely like the official and somewhat-official versions were correct one would think that things would simply be explained and people would be allowed to choose for themselves. Most people I believe would choose correctly. They would also know to criticize what has been done wrong and is being planned that might be wrong.
It is hard not to be pessimistic at times, scared too, and less about the virus and any successor viruses, virulent though they may be than about the arbitrariness and what might be behind it. Rational dialog is good.

Yeah, I suppose this might be correct if someone had punctured their eardrum. Otherwise, I’m no doctor but I can’t see it.
The Eustacian Tube opens and closes in the inner ear to regulate pressure and when open is a pathway directly to the nasal cavity
