Defining gold bull eras by it’s underlying contango/backwardation behavior as a % of price…
For some reason, the mechanics of contango/backwardation behaving much more like 1970’s than 2000’s…
Still some more % contango to squeeze in before surpassing 1970’s top!
How high can the premium as a % of price go? Anybody know of a study done on this? Does this have anything to do with lease rates?

Great chart. Yes this time around it is similar to 1970’s. The reason bear market in Silver to gold or bull trend in Gold to silver ended after 40 years. Top and bottom was in Jan 1980.
