Did anyone here know that the U S States receive money for each positive case from a 30 Billion Dollar Federal Program ?
Some states receive hundreds of thousands per case!!!
Is that incentive ?

Everyone is aware that governors and other politicians are ramping up orders to wear masks to new insane levels. If indeed this order will result in more diagnosed COVID cases…
How can we avoid looking at the financial incentives?
It turns out that the states are receiving federal money for EVERY COVID case.
The reference here is Becker’s CFO Hospital Report, April 14, 2020, “State-by-state breakdown of federal aid per COVID-19 case”:

The article goes on to list every state and the money it will receive for EACH DIAGNOSED COVID CASE.
If mask wearing increases the likelihood of a COVID diagnosis, then: those states forcing new widespread mask dictates will be multiplying their federal $$$.
And if you really want to cover the bases, every method of fake case-counting will have the same ballooning $$$ effect for the states.
ALL the so-called containment measures—masks, quarantine, isolation, distancing, lockdowns, economic destruction—bring on fear, stress, loneliness…lowering immune-system function…leading to more infections…which means more germs replicating in the body…which means more false-positive COVID diagnostic tests…and more human destruction…and more $$$ for the states.

A point to consider about reactions to opinions about masks like Rappoport’s and many others:
This point does not go one way or another particularly. I make it to help understand how people think.
Any number of OR personnel and not just surgeons have worn masks much of the time throughout their adult lives. Other medical personnel too. Many people working in laboratories have worn masks often for varying portions of the day for much of their adult lives. Beginning perhaps a couple of decades ago in the US I think federal laws may have increased the requirements for mask usage in certain medical and research situations though I am not sure. In any case, there are many people who are used to wearing masks much of the time at work. For them to hear that wearing masks is not good for them is almost like wearing that shoes and socks are not good for them. Whether or not it is true, it is easy for multitudes of people — some in positions to affect policy — to consider dismissively.

I wear masks in my profession and I can tell you we all KNOW intuitively they are NOT good for you.
Duh ! They restrict your breathing ! They are NOT comfortable and we take them OFF asap after the surgical procedure is done.
The reason we wear masks is NOT to prevent us or others from “sharing” viruses. If you are sharing air you are sharing viruses
We all understand a virus can “fly” right through a mask …if oxygen can pass thru a mask so can an infintisimally tiny piece of RNA
We wear masks to prevent our bacterial laden mucous from accidentally getting into the surgical site AND to prevent the mucous and blood and pus in patient’s oral cavities from flying into our mouths and noses.
