   What I would suggest that argues for the opposite outcome is the role of the GSR as a credit metallic spread. If we have a credit contraction this fall, which I believe we are due to resume the GSR would actually rise. That would be my expectation

       The rise in the GSR in Jan/Feb forecast the crisis that hit in March. So that is what drove it higher above 100. To figure where the GSR is headed the most useful thing to look at is where the credit system is headed. I suspect it could contract in the fall. But we will see

         My crystal ball is opaque. However I think it would be most unwise to bet against your suspicion.

         My amateurish unstudied impression is credit contractions often occur right after presidential elections (meaning late fall, winter). So yes, late fall possible. This year economy, finance, politics — all are anomalous. Thus early-mid fall seems possible too for a contraction (to undermine Trump — or just by mistake — or it happens despite attempts to prop him up because of general economic or financial nuttiness).

         So yes. Feels right to me. But what do I know? I suppose they can put off contraction to even greater extremes.
