I still have some questions in my mind both ways on masks* and much else covidian.
Though I still have some way to go (I hope) before reaching my 80s however I am not sure I am too happy about the idea of having Octos “locked up”, and I suspect I don’t think you really are either. I have recently come across an article or two questioning the possibility of widespread slow de-facto ‘mercy’ killing of nursing home patients-inmates-customers in the US/Canada/UK not in the context of Covid via deliberate don’t ask don’t tell overmedication and like practices. In the context of Covid-19 one thing that has been needed is better training in hygiene for staff, better staffing, and better policies when staff get sick.
[* I will offer for your viewing pleasure a couple of articles, one relevant to masks, and the other at best minimally relevant from off-guardian. Again, warnings include that off-guardian publishes pieces with which I do not agree. Such material has included articles seemingly denying the existence of Covid-19 as an entity, a travelogue of NKorea highly favorable to its government, and many articles knee-jerk favorable to Corbyn’s plans of nationalization IMO, various pieces written by authors even more long-winded than I am, and so forth. Nevertheless I find some articles useful for provoking my own thought, and comments too.

Karl You are way off topic here…this is about opening schools and letting kids touch each other and breath “normal” air and not growing up to be obssesive compulsive germiphobes.
Its about the studies that show kids don’t get sick from this virus and don’t spread this virus.
It’s about the KIDS !!
We already decided to lock down the inmates in Care Homes…now that they are tucked in …let the Kids Play

The PDF reads like a reasonable and thoughtful guidance. Anyone who thinks that masks and physical distancing is going to work with younger kids hasn’t had younger kids in a long while.
