So in only one in 14 deaths out of the current total of 125,000 can COVID-19 be said to be the actual only cause.

There’s a simple metric Fully – excess deaths. How many people are dying, over and above the average number for the time of year? By that metric, there were more deaths here in the UK than the official Covid-19 stats suggest, so either the deaths from Covid are being under reported, or something else caused deaths to be much higher than normal.
Could be europhiles who dropped dead over Brexit.

Excess deaths will presumably even out over the full year anyhow because they were just pulled forward by a few months as the care home residents were killed by covid instead of their chronic illnesses .
No question they are padded. And just look at Medicare reimbursement rates if Covid is cited, or if a vent is used.

The 10 states with the highest death rates from coronavirus (as a percentage of the state population) are all states with Democratic governors.
10 states (also) had unemployment rates in May above 15%. They are all states with Democratic governors, with the exception of deep-blue Massachusetts with its liberal Republican governor, Charlie Baker.
So that’s where the lockdowns were applied …. yes, population density probably accounts for higher risk, AND more Democrats. Leave the cities, and your politics might flip red. Go figure.
BUT …. what is being under reported (and from talking to people) is lung damage being incurred by those who get it and recover.
