As usual I have not seen this on any MSM news “service” …Service ? Ya uh hu !
I copied this from a site I subscribe to which seems to offer some balance.
Searched the net…and NOBODY else is carrying this story
WHY NOT ? because its very Good news !
Many countries are refusing to open their schools for fear of a prompting a second wave of coronavirus infections. But their policies would appear to be flatly contradicted by evidence from Iceland. There, a company called deCODE Genetics, in association with the country’s Directorate of Health and the National University Hospital, has analyzed the results of coronavirus tests on 36,500 people. The tests identified 1,801 cases of people suffering from the disease — and 10 deaths. Each case was carefully tracked. In not a single case could the researchers find evidence of a child passing on the disease to their parents. The company’s CEO, Kari Stefansson, revealed the findings in an interview carried on the British Science Museum website. He suggests the fact that few children suffer any symptoms, and are less likely to cough, is an important factor.
The Icelandic study reinforces the results of a review of evidence last week by the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health, which said it couldn’t find a single documented case of a child under 10 passing COVID-19 to an adult. In one case a nine-year-old boy returning from a skiing holiday in the Alps was found to be infected with Sars-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, as well as influenza and the common cold. He didn’t pass Sars-CoV-2 to anyone, in spite of coming into contact with 170 children. He did, however, pass the flu and cold to his siblings — but not Sars-CoV-2.
It ought to be pretty strong evidence that opening schools is safe, and is among the first moves which should be taken to exit from lockdown. But don’t bet against the unions squashing plans to open before September at the earliest.

No links or nothing. Come on, help us out a least a little bit — no youTube videos or facebook posts, though.
Here’s one I could find: https://www.decode.com/iceland-provides-a-picture-of-the-early-spread-of-covid-19-in-a-population-with-a-cohesive-public-health-response/
We already know this in the UK. Younger school children (the ones who don’t seem to pass it on very easily) are soon returning to school as part of the first phase of re-starting the economy. An evidence based approach is essential in keeping the ‘r’ number below 1, so that the virus continues to recede rather than expanding through society. In the almost 3 months that we’ve had the virus in the UK we’ve recorded over 30,000 official official Covid-19 deaths, but we all know there are many more in care homes (one of my own relatives died in one, but his death wasn’t recorded as Covid, because tests weren’t being done). Doctors have already said they are almost certainly all Covid because there is no other bug/virus/disease passing through the UK population just now – the flu season ended as Covid started. It’s just in the last few days that figures for what we call ‘excess deaths’ came in. Excess deaths are the number who actually died, compared to the average for the time of year. This gives a much better overall view of what’s going on. I expect a number of deaths may have occured due to people not getting treatment for other illnesses, but it should be relatively few because UK hospitals never reached capacity, even at the height of the event. There have been 50,000 excess deaths since we went into lockdown. The science told us that, with lockdown, the deaths would be in the ‘tens of thousands’, but without lockdown it would be in the hundreds of thousands. The evidence shows that the modelling for the UK was pretty accurate. We knew the ‘r’ number for this disease is around 3 (one infected person, passes it onto 3 other on average). Wearing of masks and social distancing can reduce the r number, but, crucially, not below 1. It needs to be below 1 to ensure the number of infections in society falls instead of rising.
Each measure to ‘return to normal’ has an effect on the ‘r’ number (about 2 or 3 weeks after implementing the change). It’s estimated that around 90% of the UK population has not had the virus. The remaining 10% have immunity for an unknown period of time, but a mutated version of the virus can infect them (if for example the virus returns towards the end of the year, like flu does, in a slightly different form).
Vaccine for SARS hasn’t been developed yet. A vaccine for this may take a year or two, and, like the flu vaccine, it may only work for a proportion of those who receive it. I know many people who’ve had the flu vaccine, but still caught flu. In time, there will be enough people with enough immunity, and a vaccine that works for enough people to put this thing back in the box it came from. I may never go away though, and we may just have to add it to the list of viruses that circulate around the world and cause premature death, especially for those with pre-existing health conditions and the elderly.
We stopped the disaster of hundreds of thousands dying in a few weeks in the UK. It would’ve destroyed our healthcare system. I’m grateful that we managed to stop that with some very extreme measures. I believe it was necessary at the time. We didn’t know enough to really do anything else. We lost many fit and healthy doctors, nurses, bus drivers and essential workers as well as some children, even a new born baby. and of course, thousands upon thousands of people with health issues and the elderly. It was bad, but it would’ve been unthinkable if we’d just left it a few more days before doing what we did.
Why was the UK hit so bad compared to some other European countries ? It’s too early to say, but future studies will shed light on this. Some countries took less action than us and had better outcomes. Is there more than one strain of this thing ? Are some strains worse than others ? It’s going to interesting to see what happens as the weather turns colder again in October/November, and we’re all (hopefully) getting back to ‘normal life’ (whatever that might be – gloves/masks/distancing ?).
As far as the economy is concerned – we’re in deep sh#t
One additional comment – many in the UK suspect the reason why 50,000 died instead of half that number was because we delayed lockdown by a few crucial days, and had some lovely weather in the days before lockdown – everyone was socialising, attending mass sports events all over the country, and going to pubs/bars etc. Probably more than normal because of the nice weather and the fact everyone knew lockdown was coming. It probably cost many thousands of lives.
Northstar. In the UK do you know what the most common protocol was during early diagnosis? Before patients where struck so severe with the virus, do you know what the majority of doctors were prescribing to keep their patients out of the hospital? (We know now that if doctors were following WHO and CDC guidelines, doctors where being of little help)
I just learned a few days ago that my neighbor has been suffering for three weeks with sever respiratory problems. Says he can’t breath. Had a test for Covid-19 and it was negative. Does not believe the test could have been taken properly. When I asked what meds he was taking, the response was that he had just received an inhaler after 2 1/2 weeks of dealing with this. He was very happy, and surprised, to receive all the info about Zinc, Quercetin, Vitamins C, & D. Hopefully he will see some improvement in the coming days. It seems the doctors want to wait for scientific double blind studies before even prescribing off the shelf supplements. (Oh yeah…. the medical community including WHO and CDC does not make any money on supplements and generic medications)
PK – I personally know several people who tested negative in hospital for Covid. Their family doctors then said the test is bullshit. Ignore it. When they went back yo hospital later with even worse symptoms the test came back positive. If you have Covid symptoms, it’s highly likely to be Covid, as we are not in flu season.
A few weeks ago, it was paracetamol. Hopeless. Now they are trying a variety of combinations which doctors internationally are reporting vary degrees of success with. Some combinations work well for some, but make no difference with others. Age, health and ethnicity are all factors.
