Simple Question
The UK and Italy have about 5% of Chinas population. China detected 81000 cases, and registered 3169 deaths. That means we should expect to see 5% of those numbers – 3240 cases and 126 deaths.
Italy already has 12462 cases and 827 deaths.
What’s going on ?
It shows Italy was too late with its measures and/or citizens did not follow rules implemented by government. The Chinese approach of total isolation works better as humans never understand the seriousness of the situation and do not follow rules voluntarily.
1. Most Covid-19 cases in China occurred in Hubei Province, and most of those in Hubei occurred in Wuhan. China locked down its population early. New emergency hospitals were built in Wuhan and teams of (voluntary) health care providers were quickly dispatched to the troubled city. Meanwhile the rest of the country went into isolation.
2. The virus mutates quickly, and there is some speculation that a the strain circulating in Italy may already be a more virulent one.
The virus survives and is spread spread only in humans, so far as we know. If it can’t spread it will die out. We must Practice Non Pharmaceutical Intervention (NPI) That means social distancing. No hand shakes, no hugs, no kisses, no public gatherings. Thid means churches, schools, and meetings too. Shut down travel. Close shops except for pharmacies and food stores.
The UK has a national treasure in the person of Dr. John Campbell who has been posting about the virus (you tube) since the outbreak got underway in early January. He could see what was coming and knew what to do. Who listened? Certainly not the WHO (World Health disorganization)
Why would you trust any info coming out of China? I suspect they lie about the weather, too…
It goes without saying I don’t trust Chinese stats. I just wonder how much they lied…
The abacus numbers are BS……
I think the South Korea stats and model can be trusted….if any one’s stats can !
