     It may be that the market is scared of the suspense. Silver is, after all, very much a metal of industry and commerce. People are worrying that these may decelerate abruptly, for example in reaction (correct or not) to the nCoV infections.

     “Otto” has posted a piece from Raymond James on the latter topic. He notes he rarely does this sort of thing but finds the piece useful. He himself has been rather inclined to play down the financial effects. You will see that the Raymond James report tends to focus on optimistic projections.

     These problems might interact with political (“trade war”) sorts of problems as noted in the piece.

     People and institutions may be concerned about the activity (in some extreme overleveraged cases viability??????) of companies requiring silver’s special electronic or other physical and chemical qualities.

     (Ignorant of Raymond James’s sources in at microbiology or epidemiology, I certainly can’t vouch for their piece. They seem to give an awfully long possible incubation period, one I don’t think I had read previously, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t reliably sourced. I would imagine they have reasonably sound sources on current Chinese economic activity. You all can tell me. You may know Raymond James better.)

     (I also note in Fidelity’s news today on how a few high tech companies are withdrawing from a high tech conference in Spain this month because of the virus. That withdrawal means absolutely nothing directly for Ag. It is however an indicator of alterations in international commerce, in which Ag is involved via manufacture of internationally sold products.)
