   Royal Gold has had relatively unattractive shorter term charts for a while — since around Dempsey announced a resignation. Compare to WPM or especially FNV. I have been wondering if there’s some bad news I don’t know about.

   On the other hand, if you look at a multi-decade chart it looks pretty nice, esp with a log scale. I don’t know. It’s a quandary.

   I bought it to a large extent back when the dinosaurs roamed and RGLD was more or less a penny stock. I watched it go to 100, then down to around 50 and sold most of it in 2015. Then after it went above 100 I’ve been feeling really stupid for not holding on to it all. My biggest holding by far–a minor pain to sell since in certificate form. But thanks for the reminder to be vigilant.

   Many of the larger stocks don’t look so bad — yet.

   This afternoon I took a quick look at some other larger ones with thoughts of selling — FNV, AEM, GOLD, WPM…BTG… They really don’t look bad at all, the charts anyway–though most were in the red for the day. Right now it looks like a company specific thing where certain ones are getting hit badly and not others. Certainly a sign that things aren’t going straight up this very minute.

   Yep, there are some concerning charts out there. KL has symmetrical HS…it was initially wicking out on this NL today but eventually cracked. Looks possible to morph into the orange channel to kick out another shoulder that would BT the blue NL. In a perfect world this is just the shoulder of a bigger pattern with the head still to come but getting ahead of myself.
