It’s an interesting phenomenon in some senses I suppose–I used to pay attention to this stuff– and worthwhile to point out but I’m not sure it means much other than to short term traders. Let me know how I’m wrong. I’m often wrong.
AGREED. You are more than correct Karl. Unless that singular event changes the corse of a larger scale trend long set before it, is useless.. and potentially harmfull, making you take decisions based on emotions rather than an emotionless trading framework.
Every morning people are looking at the newly published number of infections and deaths for this new Virus
Meanwhile every day thousands in the world ( out of the 8 BILLION on the planet) are dying of the “regular|” flu )
Meanwhile they rush for a vaccine . But these vaccines are at best 50 50 to even work
AND how do you know it worked …even if you don’t get it. Only a very tiny % of the world population will get this virus at any rate.
It is ridiculous to “count” incidences because for every reported incidence there are likely 10 or 100 non reported incidences with symptoms as mild as a runny nose.
I don’t know if the hysteria is manufactured by the drug/ medical supply companies to sell masks and vaccines and gowns etc
OR it is just a case of a snowballing mass hysteria.
I am certainly not making light of any disease that can kill you…but this article puts it all in persoective
Even this article is confusing though
In one paragraph they say 5 million cases and 650,000 deaths from the regular flu world wide per year
The in another they say 15 million in the USA alone but “only” 8,500 deaths.
Anyhow…thanks for posting
PS…did you see the |news clip on TV of a mass stampede in China to get a surgical mask.
They are apparently hard to get.
EVERYONE is wearing one
THIS TOO is ridiculous
Wear one of these things for a few days and you accumulate untold trillions of microbes which embed in the fabric.
These are meant for medical personel to use 1 time per patient contact…But most have to use one for a week or more.
IMHO they make it more likely to catch a virus !
A Virus is so tiny it can walk right through the fabric anyhow..without even bending over.
If you can breath thru it a virus can fly through it.
I think this is just a case of snowballing mass hysteria… which is too easily made possible by the internet and especially social media.
. . . Now if we could get hysterical about cancer cures, that would be something. But I fear cancer is too much of a cash-cow for the industry to allow for a cure. I know the Out-of-Sight, Astronomical price it garners; got the T-shirt twice.
As for daily — even perhaps weekly — reactions in prices to evocative news items …
consider me BORED.

What’s it like to have coronavirus? Nick Ferrari speaks to Brit who contracted the virus

And to be clear, to my knowledge, the WHO didn’t categorize the situation as a pandemic. Just an “emergency” whatever that means.
WHO statistics for non-emergencies:
WHO reports 650,000 deaths annually worldwide from the ordinary Seasonal Flu.
https://www.globalresearch.ca/flu-bigger-concern-wuhan-virus-grabs-headlines/5701932
WHO also reports an estimated 9.6 Million Cancer deaths annually worldwide.
I agree with you Alfa8
This is blowing way out of proportion
