Zero Hedge
Always Provocative , Often Sensationalist , Frequently Useless…all IMHO
But The story just posted by Boobooman below is interesting
………………..
Exactly What is a Zero Hedge Anyhow ?

If watching the news doesn’t satisfy your hunger for scary stories, Zero Hedge is the place for you.
Zero Hedge, a financial blog, offers a deeply conspiratorial, anti-establishment and pessimistic view of the world.
Even though stocks have zoomed to record highs since Zero Hedge launched in 2009, the site continues to hold serious sway among hedge funds, traders and others in finance. That’s because Zero Hedge’s dark perspective has struck a chord with the sizable portion of the public who remain deeply skeptical of the stock market and economy.
Zero Hedge’s outlook is nicely summed up by the tagline at the top of its website: “On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.”
If those words sound familiar, it’s because they’re from “Fight Club,” the 1999 film starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt.
Related: There’s a ‘death cross’ in the stock market. Should you worry?
Who is Tyler Durden? Each post on Zero Hedge is submitted under the pseudonym “Tyler Durden,” the fictional “Fight Club” anarchist played by Pitt who blows up the headquarters of credit card companies.
A typical post on Zero Hedge reads like it would fit in the movie script. “The retail investor is not coming back,” the blog posted on Monday, due to a “complete lack of trust in a market that has been revealed to be more rigged than any casino.”

Bottom line for me:
Zero hedge has been warning gloom and doom in the Stock markets since 2009 (10 YEARS !)
If you buy what they are selling…You have shorted THIS and your trading account is near ZERO !
Good summary Fully. The trouble is that we all have a bias, and gravitate towards sites/blogs/articles that confirm our pre-existing bias. Eventually, there will be a bear market in general stocks, but, as the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Fear sells fully – 🙂
Comic relief! A quick read of their headlines is entertainment for me.
Occasionally I find something useful, but usually go to the source.
I must say though, the staff members at ZeroHedge are on their toes. A breaking news story will appear there before anywhere else. And to their credit, the new report proves to be mostly true.
“If you buy what they are selling…” you are buying the Kremlin’s own anti-Western perspective, conspiracy theories (when convienient) and all.
HochsChild: On 9/11 the first call Bush the Dumbass received was from the monstrously evil Vladimir Putin, who overuled his own generals and allowed American forces to use former Soviet airfields in Tajikistan in order to invade Afghanistan and overthrow the Taliban (who allowed Bin Laden to operate there). All Putin received for his help was a kick in the balls.
How many countries has Russia invaded or attacked since 2001? I love the United States but I HATE my government. WE are the problem – not Putin.
It’s good if you are aware enough to relaise that ZeroHedge always criticizes the US and other Western governments (and never ever Putin or the Russian government), but not every reader is. I just hope your view of Putin is not based solely on ZeroHedge or other Kremlin surrogates and outlets. Your view might be different if you were actually living under Putin’s laws and trying to do business in Russia. In any case, it never ceases to amaze me how many American ZH readers do indeed to seem to love Putin much more than their own government! Mission accomplished, ZH!
HochsChild Thank you for your insights re the Zero Hedge Agenda…I am kicking myself for not putin’ that together. 🙂
Zero Hedge is a Russian Asset ?
Hmmm….
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck… It’s no secret how tight Bulgaria and Russia are and have historically been https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krassimir_Ivandjiiski
I have no more faith in Bloomberg than I do in ZeroHedge. Probably less.

HochsChild: How many Russians and Bulgarians do you personally know?
I have been a co-host parent for two young Russian men who attended university near my home. Both attained undergraduate degrees in chemistry and went on to obtain Ph.Ds in chemistry as well. Both married American girls and one decided to move to Russia due to the cultural sickness and warmongering of present day America. Sadly he AND his American wife told me they didn’t want to raise a family here. They started their own business in 2015 and have prospered under “Putin’s laws”.

And guess what: they get to keep 85% of their earnings! What they earn isn’t confiscated for the greater good of the Kremlin or bombing and invading other countries from Kosovo to Iraq to Syria. She loves the Russian people AND living in Putin’s “hell-hole”.
The Bulgarian I know personally is a computer technician and he would be shocked to hear how much Bulgarians “love” Russia and are basically surrogates for the Kremlin. (Where do you get your “facts” and “knowledge” of Russia…Hillary Clinton’s School of Diplomacy? The DNC?)
Erudite, thinking people eventually realize there are no “good guys” – only bad guys who win and bad guys who lose.
Methinks it’s you who are indoctrinated about Putin – not I.
I have a good number of Russian friends, BooBoMan, and I lived in the country for several years.
Zerohedge is NOT a trading framework. But does make GREAT conversation starters. Nobody at a dinner party is interested in my trading methodology… but most seem captivated when I talk about real money gold… the fed… fiat currencies going to zero…
There is some trading ‘info’ in Zerohedge, in the form of Nomura’s Charlie McElligott’s reporting on the CTAs actions.

… and whose purpose does that reporting serve? Ta turn the tables on ya, I suspect.

Comment sections on ZH posts can be valuable. Lots of pro-gold lurkers on the comments. In fact, I discovered Goldtent from a link in ZH’s comments a few years ago!
