Micro Volume
Non existent
Except for the chosen Few like AGG
No real hot money interest in these things at all yet
Sure some are moving but in these things a few hundred dollars can buy several thousand or more shares and create
large % moves
Means nothing unless there is volume.
Watching and waiting for the real Gold Rush to begin
Spec Hot money in the micros will be a big sign IMHO
Somewhat interesting interview on Kitco today by D. Cambone* of D. Oliver. Towards the end Oliver says (approximately–don’t hold me to details) that the junior market is significantly different this time because the Canadian brokerages have gotten rid of many of their analysts and brokers; retail investors/speculators have gone into cannabis stuff; because there are now ETFs the entities with huge money just go into ETFs and don’t do homework. He implies but does not state that the dynamics with the junior market (in which in this and in prior interviews he indicates he is heavily invested) may be much different this time. He does state that what he expects this time is that sooner or later the intermediate sized companies will start buying the little ones. That is how the money in the little ones will be made.
He does not state the following, but the corollary of his proposed scenario would seem to be that this time one cannot necessarily count on the wind lifting all the turkeys high. The intermediate-sized companies buying the tiny ones in order to get decent properties will presumably tend to have some idea of what they are doing and not just follow some breathless newsletter writer. Thus one may have to be selective in buying the teeny-tinies.
(* I have to think that by now D. Cambone must be one of the most knowledgeable people out there in the topic. If she’s at all good at decision making she should start her own fund!!)
Thanks Karl…Your interesting musings on this god forsaken niche sector are much appreciated
Did not see anyone here mention the Oilprice.com paid for pump on AGG.V being the reason for the pop.

Agreed Fully. I am constantly on the lookout for tells that we have a pulse, are percolating or boiling over. Like the shoeshine boy that hands out the stock tip etc. Yesterday on CNBC Pete Najarian suggested GDXJ and I nearly crapped my pants. Makes me think they might be onto something in other sectors. One thing I look at is stock message boards, They are starting to come back to life but some of the juniors don’t have a any posts for years. When people are up all night posting and excited I will know we are at the sell station. This bull is soooo young.
