   Interesting.

   I used to have all the numbers for various things and put them on my own spreadsheets, also apply specialized statistical software. No time now, no license for the pricey statistical software and haven’t learned the open source software. Don’t have collectiona of data any more.

   If I had the data and time I’d love to superimpose the data from all the years though — First, I’d look at each year on top of each other year*. It would be fun, at least for someone with my mentality. Then I might then squander time by looking at means, medians, other types of averages; quartiles, and obscurer statistical measurements (all this with the data and with log data–all sorts of way to waste time).

   It would be fun (for me) to look at standard deviations of superimposed annual data to see whether there are some parts of the year where the prices tend to move much more consistently than at other times. I do wonder whether for example epochs really do tend to be much more similar year after year than other epochs.

   (* For me another kind of fun would to be to do this sort of thing from peaks and from troughs.)
