I understand… Many of us have been conditioned to expect certain thinks like Pavlov’s dogs.
With a Fed meeting and interest rate decision coming up next week, we know what often happens in the days preceding the meeting.
Frankly, I think that we put too much importance on what the Fed says and does. Most of it is just jawboning.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Fed sits tight for now and provides more soothing words with dovish tones.
Me too about the nervous part, but I have cashed in some chips along the way and re-allocated some to reduce my risk. If things get worse, I will likely raise some cash. But, in a bull market the hardest part is the sitting. My bias is bullish, but I feel I have been tainted by the pain over the last five years and have been more open minded about downside risk. Hopefully not too open minded.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I get really irritated that I have to wait. I don’t get nervous. I get excited. Of course I prefer to do well, but I almost prefer finding out over doing well. I often feel like a small child annoyed at having to wait for Christmas to open presents. I even somewhat that way when the market goes against me just so I can find out what’s in those packages.
Has my experiment worked and yield decisive results? Will the new cake recipe turned out o.k., or at least be a truly repulsive failure? Will the new vegetable I’ve planted this year come up or just weeds in its place? Can’t I just put these things on fast forward?
I don’t get anxious. I just want to find out.
